For the last two decades, Toby Tinsley has designed, and along with his team, illustrated the ‘Flying Icons’ adorned on the sides of the Virgin Atlantic global fleet, as well as creating the nose-cone art for Virgin Galactic, the first ever vintage style pin-up to go to space, and the mermaid for the launch ship Scarlett Lady for Virgin Voyages.

 

Led by Toby Tinsley, UK Illustrator Fay Dalton works up the facial sketches and masters the pose, whilst Toby works on the hair paintings, design and illustrations of the outfits. The combination of traditional pencil sketches and digital air-brusing has proved to be a multi-award winning combination for over 2 decades.

 

To date, it is estimated that these illustrations are seen by approximatley 5.6 million people every year in all corners of the world
